y, the LIRR offers up to 6 children between the ages of 3-12 to ride on the the train for just 75 cents per paying adult! So the trip, which is $21 per person, was just $1.50 per girl....-you have to purchase beforehand, and the option is on the automated machines as well)
The day was hot and the trip was too long, please remember to schedule the exact things that you want to do and see because there was way too much in Central Park to
fit into one day!
We began the trip waaaaay at the top of the Park, at 103rd Street and by 10am, it was well over 90 degrees. ( I seem to have an extreme knack for planning trips on the hottest days of the year) and I bought each girl and nice white bucket hat, it helped to deflect the sun, while making it easy to pick them out in a crowd.
Most of the morning was spent taking pictures as i wanted to be sure that I captured an individual shot of each girl, and had plenty of options to choose from.
I just want them to look back one day and be able to say " I've been to Central Park, I went once when I was in Girl Scouts" because if you're from New York, the one thing you haven't ever done is spend a day in Central Park!
We ended up having to walk 60 blocks through the park ( which included a very pretty but very hot trip around the reservoir) But the girls took it in stride, they walked, they ran..they sang Justin Bieber - so maybe I didn't win on that one, but all in all the day was great!
